Foreign citizens and Chinese citizens shall undertake the following procedures for legalization of documents:
1. All documents intended for consular legalization must be issued by Belgian institutions (such as, civil registry office of City Hall, court, school, hospital, police station, sworn translator, etc.…) or by Belgian notaries.
2. Documents issued by a Belgian institution or by a Belgian notary must be sent for legalization to the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (documents issued by certain authorities shall be authenticated by their superior competent authorities before legalized by the Belgian Ministry Foreign Affairs).
3. Documents already legalized by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs can be submitted to the Visa Application Center for consular legalization.
